Cosmology with the kinetic Sunyaev–Zeldovich effect: Independent of the optical depth and <i>?</i>₈

The cosmological constraints from the kinetic Sunyaev-Zeldovich experiments are degenerate with optical depth measurement, which is commonly known as optical-depth degeneracy. In this work, we introduce a new statistic based on first moment of relative velocity between pairs in triplet, capable constraining parameters independent depth, and $\sigma_8$. Using 22,000 $N$-body simulations Quijote suite, quantify information content using Fisher matrix forecast. We find that it able to obtain strong parameters, particularly summed neutrino mass. have factor 6.2-12.9, 2.3-5.7 improvement all model when compared those obtained mean pairwise velocity, redshift-space halo power spectrum, respectively. Thus paves way forward constrain $\sigma_8$ data future alone.
